A finely carved Balinese wooden figure depicting Wilmana, a powerful mythological winged guardian associated with traditional Balinese and Hindu epic imagery. The figure is distinguished by its expressive facial features, elaborate crown, richly ornamented attire, and expansive wings carved with individually defined feathers. Executed in jackfruit wood, the sculpture retains traces of its original polychrome finish, with muted reds, ochres, and dark pigments revealing an aged and characterful patina.

Likely originating from either Tabanan or Gianyar, Bali, the piece dates to the late 1990s and was crafted by a skilled Balinese artisan. Its intricate carving, dynamic posture, and elaborate decorative details reflect Bali’s enduring woodcarving traditions, in which mythological guardian figures embody strength, protection, and spiritual significance.
